How do I know my loved one is in need of in-home care services?
It is sometimes difficult to decide if home care services are needed for your family member. If you have noticed your loved one having difficulty in their daily activities such as changes in personal hygiene, forgetfulness, or neglect of household chores, it might be time to begin homecare services. One of our case managers will be happy to provide a free consultation and advice on possible services needed.
How quickly can service begin?
In urgent cases we can start service within 6 hours. Of course the more time we have to develop a care plan and find the best possible homecare specialist to provide service the better. Typical timeframe to begin service is 1-2 days.
What if my family member needs the service but refuses?
It is not unusual for seniors to be apprehensive about having in-home services. However we take great care in selecting a HomeCare Specialist that has experience in dealing with clients with the same needs as your family member. We have found that after several visits the client becomes more comfortable with having in-home services.
Will we always have the same HomeCare Specialist?
The relationship between client and HomeCare Specialist is one of the most important factors in the success of providing in-home service. As quickly as possible after service begins we assign a HomeCare Specialist who provides services on a regular basis. Should the same HomeCare Specialist need to be off on your day of service we encourage that person to work with you on rescheduling for another day. If that is not possible we will offer you another well-trained HomeCare Specialist.
What if we are not satisfied with the assigned HomeCare Specialist?
Client satisfaction is the most important goal at ElderServe HomeCare. If you are not satisfied, we will work to find a HomeCare Specialist that you will be pleased to have providing the care for your loved one.
Are your HomeCare Specialists insured and bonded?
Yes. For the safety of our clients we also complete a national criminal background check and drug screening. Our employees are also covered under worker’s compensation insurance.
What if I need to add, reduce, or cancel the service?
No problem. Simply contact the case manager whenever it is necessary to make changes in the service.
Will Medicare or insurance cover the costs of in home services?
Medicare does not typically cover the type of hourly service that ElderServe HomeCare provides. We are happy to provide documentation to long term care insurance companies that could help you obtain the best coverage available.
Who do I pay and how is billing done?
Each month you will receive a statement that contains invoices for each week of service for that billing month. The invoices will list each day’s service and how many hours of service were provided. Payment should be made directly to ElderServe HomeCare and not sent through your HomeCare Specialist. We accept checks as well as credit card payments.
How do I know that service was provided?
Each day of service that an ElderServe HomeCare Specialist makes is documented with a timesheet. The timesheet lists times of arrival and departure and the duties performed. At the end of the shift the timesheet is reviewed with the client and then the client signs. If the client would like, two copies can be prepared and signed–one for our billing purposes and one to leave with the client.
